All right, so, we already know my feelings on pretty much anything George Romero related, so this review for me is a no-brainer.
I have loved this series since I was a kid and it holds a place in my heart forever, as well as the hearts of any person who likes anything zombie related.
Zombies rule the world, except for a small group of scientists and military personnel who reside in an underground bunker in Florida. The scientists are using the undead in gruesome experiments; much to the chagrin of the military.
Finally the military finds that their men have been used in the scientists’ experiments, and banish the scientists to the caves that house the Living Dead. Unfortunately, the zombies from above ground have made their way into the bunker.

On July 19th 1985, the world got to see this director’s vision of the zombie apocalypse. What he started in Night of the Living Dead had gone full circle, showing us humankind on the brink of complete extinction. This film follows a small band of survivors taking refuge in an abandon military bunker.
Trapped in a missile silo, a small team of scientists, civilians and trigger-happy soldier’s battle desperately to ensure the survival of the human race, but tension inside the base is reaching a breaking point, and the zombies are gathering outside.
This story is just one of those movies you need to watch, yes. There are characters in this film you care about, yes; there are ones you hate entirely, and probably stand up and cheer when they meet their gruesome end. It was a pleasure to watch for me and remains one of my favorites now.
It has a decent story, more about the end of everything and how we handle it instead of being about the characters. Though, this movie does give you a memorable character, a zombie named Bub, one you grow to love throughout the film, One that was even shown once more recently in The Walking Dead.
The Favorite Zombies
The producers of the show loved the original films so much, they had to honor it in some way, and they did so by adding a cameo of everyone’s favorite zombie in a scene from the show’s fourth season, fifteenth episode.
I could go on and on about this series, maybe a review for another day, but, I can tell you this much, if you have any love for zombies at all, then sit down and watch these films. 10 out of 10 from me.
