The team who brought us The Haunting of Bly Manor are going to be making a series spawned from Christopher Pike’s book The Midnight Club!
Now if the The Haunting of Bly Manor sounds familiar, it is because it is the follow up to the amazing series The Haunting of Hill House which was a smash hit for Netflix back in 2018 and both myself—Kendra Hale, and Alexa Wayne have done articles for the Series and for the book by Shirley Jackson which started it all.
We are still anxiously waiting for Bly Manor to feature this year, but getting this news is almost too much to fathom.
Midnight Club series wise would also feature on Netflix and definitely has spooky vibes galore. Published back in 1994, Christopher Pike set quite the atmosphere as he gave us the story of Rotterdam Home, a hospice for terminally ill teenagers.
We meet a group of patients who begin to gather together at midnight to share scary stories. They make a pact that whichever of them dies first will contact the others from beyond the grave. What happens next shall be saved for those who have read the book and for the series itself.
One of my top five books is by Pike, Remember Me, and I know that he has touched lives throughout the world with his writing. His writing always is a joy because it is never what I think I will be getting into and it always makes me think.
The tales he weaves definitely stick with readers and his characters are unforgettable. To see his book getting not only attention but also a series sends my nostalgia into full gear.
Having that kind of power to entrance and stay so relevant with readers plus getting mixed in with the team who sent chills down those who have viewed The Haunting of Hill House, is certainly a heady mix for expectation.
Bated breath does not begin to describe the excitement I have for what is to come. It is sure to be something with names like The Haunting creator Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong. Fong will executive produce with Julia Bicknell. We also are hearing names like Elan Gale, James Flanagan, and Chinaka Hodge for writers on the series.
While we have no dates set currently or word on when this gem can be expected, it is sure to be worth every bit of the wait to see this story told in all its glory.
So GBM fans, let’s hear from you, are you as excited as we are to see Christopher Pike’s work coming to the screen? What was your favorite story that stuck with you? Let us know in the comments below and keep an eye for more details on this continuing story!
